Sue White Pollard

Sue White Pollard, 81, of Hiawassee, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2016, at the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee.  She was a native of Rutherford County, NC, but lived in Clay County, NC, and Towns County, GA, most of her life.  She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Hiawassee.  She loved the Lord and loved her family and her church family.  She especially enjoyed music, having formerly played the organ at Truett Memorial Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC, for many years.

     Sue was loved by so many family and friends who will miss her sweet smile and loving spirit.  She was the daughter of the late Fay and Theannie Upton Owens.  She was preceded in death by daughter DeAnn Pollard O'Kelley.

     Sue is survived by husband, Dale Pollard of Hiawassee;  Daughter and son-in-law,  Susan White Nichols and Mitch, of Hayesville; Daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Pollard Foster and Curtis, of Hoschton, GA; Daughter, Cynthia Pollard of Denver, CO; Son, Glyn Pollard if Gainesville GA;  Two sisters, Jenell Greene and husband, Junior, of Henrietta NC; and Evelyn Goode of Virginia Beach, VA; Grandchildren,  Julie Nichols Miller, Jacob Nichols, Lauren Singley, Ryan Wooten, Wesley Pollard, Jason Pollard, Sean Patrick O'Kelley, and Dustin Pollard. 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held  Sunday, April 24, 2016, 5 - 8 pm at Banister Funeral Home in Hiawassee, GA
     Mrs. Pollard will lie in state Monday, April 25, 2016 from 1-2 pm with funeral services at 2 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Hiawassee with Rev. Harold Ledford and Rev. Bradley Thomas officiating.
Pallbearers:  Dan Chastain, Cliff Bradshaw, J. R. Goodwin, Jeff Tullis, Ronnie Stroud, and Larry Pollard. Burial will follow in the  Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery
Banister Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
