Terry Don DuPree. Jr., age 53 of Sparta, Georgia passed away April 30, 2024 unexpectedly at his home at Lake Sinclair. Terry was born January 28, 1971 to the late Terry Don DuPree, Sr. and Connie Alice Clark Jones.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Terry Don DuPree, Sr. He is survived by his Mother Connie Alice Clark Jones and Stepfather David Jones of Hiawassee, and his loving and devoted Best Friend, Linda Moore of Eatonton. Also, his stepmother, Cindy Bowman of Griffin, Step brothers Chuck Jones, Troy DuPree, Travis DuPree and step sister Alicia Carney. Uncles and Aunts: Randy Clark, Micky and Terrie Clark, Ricky Clark and Diane Becker, Ronnie (deceased) and Joyce Clark, and Tim DuPree; a number of cousins. Terry was previously the Owner of “DuPree's Custom Painting” at Lake Oconee, and took great pride in his work and was loved by his customers. When moving from Griffin to Lake Sinclair, Terry worked with his stepdad, David Jones, building docks, boathouses, and also a large project at Camp Benjamin Hawkins’ Boy Scout Camp in Byron Ga., building quonset huts, bridge, picnic pavillion and many other additions for the re-opening of the Camp. Terry inherited his father's talent of being a natural born mechanic. Terry also worked at Bass Boat House where he became a certified boat mechanic; Oconee Motor Sports, building and repairing motorcycles, receiving his certified yamaha motorcycle mechanic certification. He loved boats, cars and motorcycles and owned his own 1800 Yamaha motorcycle. One of his goals in life was to restore his late dad's 1972 Hydrostream boat and his stepdad's 1964 Ford Galaxy, which he planned to give back to his stepdad once finished, however, his time on earth ended too soon. Terry always had a smile on his face and showed compassion for others. Some of Terry's happiest times as a child was spending time at the lake camping and skiing with his Mom, Dad and Randy.
Banister-Cooper Funeral Home, Hiawassee, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements. Due to possible bad weather, graveside services has been changed to a memorial service at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.
