Travis Burton Saylor, age 43, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2022 in Yuma, Arizona. Travis was born to Mr. Allen Saylor and the late Mrs. Deborah Bett Saylor on July 12, 1979 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2008 where he was assigned to U.S. Army, First Armored Division; in 2009 and 2010 he served in northern Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. Most recently he was a UAV Pilot 3 for Griffon Aerospace in Huntsville, Alabama. Travis graduated from Robert S Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia then went on to the University of West Georgia and later graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He loved sports, achieving All-County in high school football and competing on the high school wrestling team; he played youth league baseball until about the age of fifteen. He enjoyed hunting and fishing during his downtime.
Travis is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Bett Saylor. He leaves behind his father, Allen Saylor; aunts, Sybil Davis and Dot Tribble; cousins, Dan Davis, Stacey Tribble and Claudia Wright; and a host extended family and friends also survive.
Memorial Service: Saturday, April 1, 2023 at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church at 2:00PM
Family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 before the service. Banister-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
