Truett William Owenby

Truett W. Owenby, age 78, of Hiawassee Georgia, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on October 6th, 2015.

Truett loved the Lord, his family and friends, traveling and returning to his mountains. One of his favorite past times - sitting and watching the world out of his sunroom window, playing on his computer with country music playing in the background.

Truett was preceded in death by his parents Leander and Raye [Lockaby] Owenby. He is survived by his love of 55 years Mae [Rogers] Owenby. Two daughters, Pamela [Owenby] Henard and husband Jeff; Kimberly [Owenby] Maynard and husband Randy and two grandsons, Conner and Avery Thrash.

Also surviving are his siblings Truman Owenby [Gail]; Ann Johnstone [Richard]; Shirley Garrett [Carlos].  As well as, many loving members of Mae's family.

Truett was an electrician by trade, working at Dixie Electric Company for over 40 years. He was a member of Crabapple First Baptist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Although he lived in Alpharetta for years, Hiawassee was always home.

Visitation will be from 6-9 at Banister Funeral Home, in Hiawassee, Georgia on Thursday October 8.  Funeral services will be Friday, October 9 at 11 am..

Pallbearers are Alan Tucker, Brad Tucker, Stan Tucker, Randy Wilkie, Conner Thrash, and Avery Thrash. Clint Baber will be giving the Eulogy while Bradley Thomas will be officiating
