Wilma McGaha McConnell

Mrs. Wilma McGaha McConnell, age 85 of Blairsville, GA passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011 following a period of declining health. She was born to the late Dock B. and Nellie (Woods) McGaha on September 24, 1925 in Warne, NC. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hughes, of Blairsville, GA; sons, Norman McConnell, of Hiawassee, GA, Buryl McConnell, of Young Harris, GA; brothers, Clyde McGaha, of Texas; D.B. McGaha, of Young Harris, GA; Hoyl McGaha, of Michigan; sister, Imogene Lewis, of Gainesville, GA; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 3:00PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating. Pallbearers were: David Cox, Tony Lewis, Tommy Lewis, Jay Rennie, Joe Young and Ian Petkebich. Music was provided by Ryan Wilson. Interment was in Burch cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.
